During this time of historic disruption in the global health and humanitarian sector, we are working hard and rallying our donor community to ensure that Americares remains a leader in providing access to health for people affected by poverty and disaster.
The loss of U.S. foreign aid funding puts lives on the line and futures at risk. Humanitarian assistance increases access to health care for people in the most desperate situations. It can make the difference between life and death.
U.S. government funding cuts to Americares have disrupted or stopped critical programs that:
•Provide essential medical care, mental health services and health education for 15,000 Venezuelan migrants and other underserved populations in Colombia.
•Improve maternal and neonatal health outcomes for an estimated 1.2 million mothers and children in Tanzania.
•Would expand services for mothers and children at Americares Family Clinic in eastern El Salvador to provide more patients in rural communities with high-quality, low-cost health services.
•Would support medical aid for the humanitarian crisis Gaza.
