WCK's Hurricane Erick Response - Mexico (June 2025)

World Central Kitchen teams were on the ground in Oaxaca and Guerrero supporting communities impacted of Hurricane Erick. The major storm brought intense wind, heavy rain, flooding, and a dangerous storm surge. WCK teams reached isolated communities by all means available. From boats to ATVs, we ensured food reaches anyone in need. We served 700,000 fresh meals and distributed 19,600 food kits.

This marked our third hurricane response in the region in three years—following Otis in 2023 and John in 2024.

WCK is first to the frontlines, providing meals in response to humanitarian, climate, and community crises. When disaster strikes, WCK’s Relief Team mobilizes to the frontlines with the urgency of now to start cooking and provide meals to people in need. By partnering with organizations on the ground and activating a network of food trucks or emergency kitchens, WCK provides freshly made, nutritious meals to communities impacted by disasters quickly and effectively. We know that good food provides not only nourishment, but also comfort and hope, especially in times of crisis around the world.
